♀ Femme 'Sacred' #316
The Femme collection is my most personal and intricate series to date. It is my love letter to women, and my little way of honouring our strength, resilience and power. Each woman is lovingly hand-painted in oil paint with a glowing gold backdrop on a cream-coloured pot.
I’m not going to lie, this one is actually my favourite. ‘Sacred’ features a brunette woman sitting on the side, hugging her knees to her chest. She is staring at the viewer with a mixture of curiosity and indifference. There is a gold arch behind her that she appears to be escaping into.
It is a midi U-shaped sized pot (approx 15cmH, 17cmW, 17cm diameter (fit 14cm pot).
This month, $10 from each pot sold will be donated. The donations will be split between Northern Rivers Relief Fund, a community-led recovery fund for flood-affected areas and sisterworks, a social enterprise empowering asylum seekers, refugee and migrant women to work towards financial independence. Care: Your pot is an original, hand-painted artwork by me, Sharlie Wise. I recommend keeping your plant inside its original plastic pot inside your Sharlie Designs pot and removing it for watering. The base will get scratched if placed on abrasive surfaces. Pots can be kept outdoors in undercover areas—please don’t let it sit in water! If it gets grubby you can gently wipe over with a damp cloth.
