N̶o̶t̶ Connected
‘Not Connected’ is a nostalgic ode to the past. I remember spending hours talking on my home phone to my best friend, after seeing her all day at school. Now I shudder with anxiety and fear when the phone rings. How can I miss and love something so much, yet hate what it has become? This painting seeks to honour the happy memory of those old phone calls, but the surface is textured and rough, turning it into a distant relic with layers of history underneath.
